Background
Matt Frequencies is an unhinged, passionate musician, performer and DJ who’s music tastes derive from video game soundtracks, classical music and flat out rave dance ranging from techno to drum and bass – and a heavy helping of metal!
He entered the Melbourne DJ scene with a bang, taking home a win on his stage at Your Shot 2023 with a powerful story set and a fistful of DOOM music. Matt has made it his mission to make good on the years spent not doing music, by engaging warp 9.99 and kicking down doors all through the industry.
Matt has a deep passion for musical genres, a fascination with the story power of video game music, and an enormous amount of respect and care for underground music. As a result, the Demoscene and Chiptune scenes are some of his favourite playgrounds.
Career Highlights
He has supported international acts such as Venjent and Sir Winston, provided all night MC and bridging music for events in the Chiptune scene, spoken at Nerd Nite on the power of video game music to open for ExtraLives, and plays regularly at Fortress Melbourne and Cosraves events, taking crowds on epic themed journeys! A particular joy has been extended and all event sets with Cosraves.
Personal Life
Matt Frequencies is a disabled performer and father of three, supported by his partner The Violet Bombshell. Together they find themselves on a most unexpected adventure, but one where every step pushes toward a new horizon.
